dodge 1 ton flatbed

I would like to go to a ton truck,my presonal pick is a dodge,but I dont want a diesel,too much hassel and $$ being it isnt used for pulling all the time,in fact most of the time it will be just a daily driver,that I want a flat bed for hauling stuff,but I do want to be able to pull a trailer when I need too,and have enough power.is the v 10 worth a durn I think that the 360 is a little small buy the way I would like an auto trans and I am thinking around a 98-2000 model,I get enough shifting in my day job. thanks for all your input bob
