It's true 134 will have higher pressure than 12, but not alot mabye 30 to 50 psi on the high side, dont by-pass the switch it's protecting the compressor not the hoses, sounds like a new expansion valve and a good system flush would be in order, dont flush thru the expansion valve, drier or compressor.
