IH 186 Air Cond 134 Freon Conversion High Pressure

Just got the AC working on my IH 186 and converted to 134. Gauge pressure was running quite high as I understand it often does with 134. Over 90 deg outside, the pressure cutout activates, presumably from high pressure. Shut off AC for a second and turn it back on and it works for a few minutes before cutting out again. Thought about just over-riding this switch and taking a chance on a blown hose. Any ideas? Hate to switch back to R12 since it is so expensive. Also, replaced a hose and mechanic said it had some rusty water in it. Replaced drier but not expansion valve. Thanks
