raytasch may be right about the sugar. Unless you had it parked near some kids play sand. If there is no kids play sand near, it is most likely sugar. Vandals most likely would not carry in play sand. If it is sugar, the ground electrode and center ceramic of the plugs will probably have a shine to it. I would try cleaning the fuel system one more time including the carburetor. Be sure to blow out all fittings and lines. If it is sugar, I don't know any way to clean out the engine short of disassembly. Relative to the low power after reinstalling the distributor; if you have it turned all the way in one direction just to get the power you have, and it doesnot kick back against the starter when trying to start it, then it is probably 1 tooth slow on timing.
