There are several auctioneer-dealers around N. IN. There are also several auctioneers that sell at huge consignment auctions and bring half of the stuff home to their consignment auction. I went to a consignment sale once where the auctioneer said beforehand: "You can have a minimum on your items, but don't bid them up or I'll throw you out." 30 minutes later I was bidding on a Farmall A and stopped at $750. Then the ringman came up to me and said I could have it for $5 bucks more. Nobody said "not enough, moving on" or something like that. I am almost certain that it was the auctioneer's tractor and they were bidding me up on it. I told them to let it sit. I've bought several items at the same sale since, but never again did they bid me up. AG
