I'm an auction junkie, but I'm a bottom feeder. I love to attend them, but only bid on real deals. I usually know what the piece is worth. While my time might be 'wasted' I think it is better for me than 'wasting' it in a bar like others. To each their own, hobby time is not 'wasted', and that is my hobby time. I got a set of Ford pie weights with bolts & discs for $12.50. I hear over on the Ford section this should be worth $300-500. Or I could sell 3 of special bolts & be making money already. Bought a $14,000 tractor for $10,600, a round baler the dealer was asking $3500 for $1600. Bought 2 gravity wagons for $1000 each at a dealer, got the 3rd exact same at auction for $550. Chisel plow was $900 at the dealer, when the main frame cracked I got the same thing at an auction for $150 & now I have lots of parts.... Waste of time? Crooked auctioneers? All depends how you aproach it I guess. You won't _ever_ be replacing my equipment for the same money from a dealer or private sale... Auctions work for me. You just have to understand you are the only thing representing your interests at the auction, while the auctioneer is _always_ reprresenting the seller. As it should be. Buyer beware. --->Paul

My current collection includes a 1938 F20, 1945 H, 1946 H, and the recently purchased 1951 H. This article will focus on what I encountered and what I did to bring the 1951 NEAR DEATH Farmall H back to life.
