Hose clamps

The popular stainless steel band clamps- Ideal is one of the popular brands- are about the only type carried by the hardware and auto stores. Replacements for special design collector tractor clamps are available, but not usually locally nor quickly. For the working tractor that needs to be running again today, the band clamp is it. Sometimes it seems as if this style clamp loosens itself. In just a few instances, these will not stay tight for me. Sometimes accessing the clamp involves removing other things, such as the alternator/generator, belt, hood, etc. Not convenient to have the clamp loosen. Anyone else experience this self-loosening and how did you solve the problem?
