For a few more $ you can get "constant torque" clamps that were designed for silicone hose. They have a double wrap of stainless and a stainless screw. Available at the large truck parts depts. and parts stores that sell silicone heater hose, etc. They don't seem to need retightening. Pricey but worth it when the clamp sits where you can't get at it w/out hood removal, etc. Otherwise with reg. style, I usually run motor up to operating temp. and let cool and retighten. If the hose is shredding through the clamp openings, it's too tight.
