Could it be choked or what caused this?

I just purchased an old 8N Ford Tractor. The person that sold it to me said they stopped making them around 1951.

It had been starting up fine. But now, it won't.

It cranks fine but I think we're (my husband and I
are new at farming and tractors!) choking it.

Actually, gas is leaking from a large hose on the right side of the motor. What is this? And
why is this happening?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
