I currently move snow with an IH-80 snowblower and a JD (gas) 3020. My brother has a JD 790 which he is quite fond of, but it seems really small to me. Whenever I hear claims of how awesome these little tractors are on snow (or look at a Youtube), they are talking a couple of inches of snow.
How do they do with a foot or foot and a half-of snow? I'm assuming somebody makes a Cat I snowblower (front would obviously be ideal). How do they work in South Dakota snows?
The 3020 is too big for most of the small things I do (use a smaller Ford 961 for mowing), and I'm wondering what a 35-40 hp (gotta be bigger than brothers!) CUT would do with the snow other than require a few more passes down the driveway? I hate to buy new Cat I implements for everything but would have to sell the 3020.
(I tried to post this on "Today's Tractors", but it doesn't work for me)
