First off if your going to post an answer that does not help please don't have enough of those down in the Ford forum. But any how my 8N with a backhoe on it seem to be in gear when out of gear. If you let up on the clutch pedal and you have a rear tire off the ground it will spin up like it is in 4th gear but it is not in gear. I took the top off to make sure it is in fact out of gear and it is. Not really sure what the heck is going on that it is doing this. So is there some bearing or other such thing that maybe locked up that would cause this type of thing to happen??? I have never been into an 8N transmission and the FO-4 manual I have is not clear as to having a bearing that might cause this. Oh and by the way some of the people did try to help but well a number all they could do was put me down for not knowing what is going on
