Goose your getting real close to disclosing some thing that was told to you in your office as confidential. You need to really think long and hard about what public office really means. It does not mean you can apply YOUR morals and views on behavior that is not on country property or time.

I will agree that the actions of the two involved are not good or moral but it is not illegal in these days and times. Also you could be sued personally for disclosing anything you learn involving county personal in your "official capacity.

Your statement "It turns out that all this attorney is concerned with is whether any of the activities of the affair took place on county property or involved county property." shows that you disagree with the legal aspects of this issue. It sounds like you want to "out" the cheaters in a very public way. This is WRONG on many fronts. The main one being it is no ones business other than the spouses of the parties involved. It makes ZERO difference if they all are county employees. What they do in their private lives is a PROTECTED activity. You have very little to gain and lot to lose if you advertise this affair.

While you are elected to the commissioner's office you are only ONE member of the board. IF you alienate the other commissioners than you will not be able to have as much effect on the commission/county. You will simply be out voted on every vote.

I have been on the school board and a bank board. You are very limited in what you can publically disclose about things you learn about employees as a member of these boards. There are legal issues with you disclosing anything.

I would recommend you delete this post as it would not be hard for a person to figure out you and where you are. Then it would be simple to work out who your talking about. Then YOU would be the one in the hot seat if the parties involved wanted to SUE you for breach of official duties.

I agree with the affair being wrong. I learned of these type of things with the school teachers. So unless it is going on during work hours and or on county property, you have no legal standing to comment or publish.

SO BE CAREFUL!!!!!

Today's Featured Article - Identifying Tractor Smells - by Curtis Von Fange. We are continuing our series on learning to talk the language of our tractor. Since we can’t actually talk to our tractors, though some of the older sect of farmers might disagree, we use our five physical senses to observe and construe what our iron age friends are trying to tell us. We have already talked about some of the colors the unit might leave as clues to its well-being. Now we are going to use our noses to diagnose particular smells. ELECTRICAL SMELLS ... [Read Article]
