$2500 paint job? I go to a couple of small local shows here every year. There is a group of JD owners that show up at both shows. They have a big tent - like a party tent without sides that they park a few 2 cylinder tractors under. The paint jobs on those had to cost 2 or 3 times that much. I was under the tent and watched a lady, not paying attention, back into a guy. He took a step back and bumped into the rear tire of a better than perfect 830?Diesel. I was surprised to see the owner come over and look to see if they had scuffed the armour all. So I got the heck out of there and went to admire some MMs, Cockshutts, ACs, and Ollies, some of which actually had mud and (gasp) manure on the tires.
