2 evenings in a row I was greeted during evening feed rounds by a raccoon, actually it kind of showed its disdain for me by slowing climbing the interior wall and into the loft. Wretched creatures. It had been a mostly coon-free winter. Tonight I reminded myself to take something with a little less fire power than what I'm inclined to carry (and less destructive if I miss) and sure enough, up the wall we go. Too much electric on the wall to shoot so up the steps to the almost empty loft I follow. About 40 feet in I hit it with 1000 lumens and it sits sooo pretty...followed by a single round of my precious .22 lr. Fell over with barely a twitch. My grandfather's single-shot Winchester took care of this as efficiently as it did when I watched him plink groundhogs as a very young boy.
