Just remembered, a couple months ago our dogs alerted and wanted out of the house. It was o-dark-30. Off they went and I heard the angry growling and though coon. Then I heard a high pitched scream like a dying rabbit makes. I'd never heard the scream before by a coon.
Next morning I Googled raccoon sounds and sure enough, they have a high pitched scream. Big dog got him and there was one less to bother my sweet corn this summer.
