A farm that I do a lot of work for has 2 golf carts. One has four 8 volt batteries and the other has six 6 volt batteries. Over the years we have had to interchange chargers when one of them needed a part. They both appear to be the same charger. The one with 8 volt batteries needs new batteries. The owner is wondering if we can install 6 volt batteries instead of eights as the one with 6 volt batteries has always been snappier. Physically, it would be very simple to do as they are both the same in every other way (not sure about motor or controller) They are Club Car brand. Anyone here have any experience or thoughts?
