Ive see a ton of conventional Club Car or EZ Go or Yamaha electric golf carts and all Ive seen are EITHER the older 36 Volt (Six 6 volt batteries) or 48 volt (Six 8 volt or even 4 twelves would work).
I guess in theory as long as your series battery combination is the correct voltage, sure either 6 or 8 volt batteries can be used HOWEVER if you need 36 volts, six 6 volters in series works but its kinda hard to get series 36 using only 8 volt batteries (4 = 32, 5 = 40). If you need 48 volts six eights will work but you would need 8 of the 6 volters!!!
