I have been tuning up my Dad's JD M and the noise coming from the fan area seems louder than it should, like perhaps the bearings aren't getting lube. I removed the screw on the fan pulley and tried adding machine oil, but it all leaked out. Has anybody ever tried gear lube or even a grease fitting in this filler hole to counter a leaking seal? I really don't want to replace the whole fan and pulley unit if I don't have to. Looks like it could be a big job to replace. Thanks, Andy
