My wife like potato chips.I got into a bag of Lays last nite.It was over 1/2 full.She saw me with the bag and said thats the worst bag of chips I ever opened.Most chips were about an inch in diameter, many were burned and had holes in them.There was a lot of breakage.I just looked into a bag of Utz chips that she had opened before finishing the Lays chips.Big difference, you can see the big potatoes were used,no burned chip or chips from damaged potatoes.Very uniform color ,some breakage on big chips.No tiny 1/2 inch bits.The Lays bag is full of tiny pieces.Make your own test, open a bag of both brands and see the difference.There no doubt that one local grower could supply all the potatoes used in this town of 1000 people.Instead potatoes are trucked from CA and ID and Canada.I dont have to compete with large growers.I plant what I can take care of and sell what I cant use my self. Fellow I know grows 3 acres every year.When its time to dig he calls a list of customer who come and pick their own.Another grower plants one acre every year and has been doing it for as long as I can remember.You are full of it with your big grower rant.
