Turns out the VR I got from the repair shop last spring was way out of adjustment. He put it on the stand and set it to where it out to be and now it works great!
Now onto my M. I have a 39 M converted to 12v with a generator and a magneto. None of Farmall Bob's diagrams seem to apply directly to my setup. I am running Batt. Terminal on VR to left side of ammeter when looking from back. L terminal of VR also runs to left side of ammeter. Lead off of right side ammeter goes down to starter button. It has one of those weird looking old light switches with a resistor built in. Nothing hooked to that right now. Connections between VR and genny are normal. It is not charging. Care to take a stab?
