John, Still having problems. I have 6v on both sides of ammeter and I have 6v at the BATT terminal of the VR. I ran a good ground from gen case to frame. I did the tests you prescribed to check the VR. Still no charge. I did the motor test too. How fast should that motor run with 6v from VR BATT terminal? This one seems like it runs pretty slow but does speed up a little when I pull the ground off of the field. Other than that I am really stumped.
