Farmall 450 sticking hydraulic dump valve

1957 450 Farmall with factory hydraulics for loader and fast hitch. This weekend hyd. system began making noise after moving hitch or loader and returning control lever to neutral. Noise stops if I move any cylinder as long as cylinder is using oil. Seems like hyd. system is deadheading; whatever should be allowing it to return oil to the tank when not using hydraulics is sticking. My manual has no drawing for valve bank assembly. Before I start tearing things apart anyone got any suggestions? thanks.
