I changed the oil in the H on Sunday and found the oil milky white and some antifreeze come out first. This tractor has been sitting around for long periods of time since the end of March. It has not been worked much since then. I have been rehabbing a house all summer and am now finished and giving full time to getting my tractor to earn its keep. I found the following statement in the articles on this site and it states: "A milky white color indicates excessive moisture in the engine. This can either result from a coolant leak into the oil or can be attributed to frequent on/off operation in colder or humid climates without letting the engine come up to a normal operating temperature for an extended period of time." I changed the the oil and checked the antifreeze and I added a little over a gallon. I went back out today and started it. The antifreeze was still full and the checking the oil drain plug I let a little oil drain out and the oil looked normal. Should I go ahead and tear into this and replace the head gasket or should I wait and see if this occurs again. I dont want to ruin the engine or have the antifreeze eat up the bearings but I really dont think I have a problem. But I am not an expert on tractors or engines. Thanks for your responses.
