tachometer drive replacement

Looking for info before I go an screw something up. Is there a trick to removing the tachometer drive on a farmall 460D. I have an old drive out of a 560D and it looks like it just slips in. Being as ignorant as I am I can't figure out how to get the old one out and make the new one stay in. Sure would appreciate it if someone could enlighten a novice tractor mechanic(don't mean to insult true mechanics but couldn't think of a better name).
