It seems that we have larger and larger local Goverments, while getting poor quality service and higher taxes. This is happening in my area, I'm sure that this is happening in your area as well. What happened to the old days when we had a Mayor/Reeve, a couple of Councillors, an old Road Superintendent? These old boys knew how to get things done in a timely and cost efficient manner. Taxes were low, we didn’t have half an army on the payroll, roads were graded (decently) , good rec. facilities and such. Everybody here now has a title and it takes 3 guys to ride around in a pickup to make sure that the roads are still flat. These “old boys” only get the recognition long after there out of office. Does anyone have an old “favourite” Mayor, that “got things done”?
