6 Volt Alternators

Good Morning! I was just wondering if anyone is using a 6 volt alternator on their 6 volt systems? The antique car folks seem to like them. I saw one on an H the other day and he didn't have to cut any metal to install it. Being new here this may have already been addressed, and if so I apologize for the repeat. Anyway, any pros or cons to the 6 volt alternators, besides the not original equipment issue? Thanks,
