Your H was original with a 6v battery. I have heard of people slipping in an 8 volt to ease winter starting and what not to kind of strengthen up the system a little. I have never run 8v in any of mine. I am in the Kansas area and I believe the 8v changeover was more common in the northern area's where the winters are a little harder. If someone does a changeover now they ussually go on up to the 12 volt system which requires more than just switching the battery. I prefer to just stick with the original 6v system myself but that is just my opinion.
