I'm with you, Bill. If everything is in good shape the old tractors will start right up with six volts the way it was intended to be. To me going to 12v is compromising some other existing starting problem. Instead of converting to twelve volts fix what is wrong and keep it original. Out of 3 Super C's in our family 2 have been converted to 12v and one is original 6. The 6 v gives the least amount of trouble and starts the easiest of the three. The other 2 have had to have the flywheel rings both replaced due to higher cranking motor speeds. By the way I am in eastern Kansas and did you buy your 1486?
