Drew.........after the "success" of the new 1948 8N's 3-wire genny and 4-wire squarecan voltage regulator, Ford did "offer" a retro-fitt 6-volt genny kit for any 9N/2N tractor owners that wanted to "update". Some did, but most didn't want the "expense". I'd say you were "lucky". 9.85 henrys and 2 rings.........thats impressive (grin) Usually, its 7000-ohms for secondary and less than 1-ohm for the primary. And NO, I don't know the "conversion factors" to convert Henry's to Ohms. As for why you can't back-date yer present Pertronix converted ignition system to run on ignition points? Bettcha ya fergott that you had to "modify" yer squarecan frontmount distributor wiring so the electronic guttz would work. You just can't power-up the electronics thru the top-terminal of the squarecan ignition coil. Re-read yer Pertronix instruction sheets for "clues" a how to re-wire yer ignition coil so it will work with ignition points.........respectfully, Dell
