Any chance you have a 9n with an 8n engine.. and thues the 8n genny? In any case.. should be easy to track down the spark issue.. power tot he coil.. ensure points open and close ( voltage on the coil changes from bat volts when open to 3ish when closed ).. rotor and cap in plave.. and you should have spark..super easy system.
