HI there, I have an older John Deere tractor and found a similar post on here where a user had an issue that was similar to mine. What happens is the tractor will start then within minutes it stops. His had a Roosa Master injector pump and similar to mine he was told to pull the timing window while running and if it runs perpetually it should likely be that the governor weight retaining ring fell to pieces.
I tried cracking the window on mine and while diesel came spitting out the tractor run flawlessly and with much more power! Now, is there anything I can do to fix this or should I look for other problems? I've never open an injector pump, haven't any manuals on it or the likes. I've found a place to send it too in Wisconsin for repair for around $350.00 so is that reasonable?
Any help is appreciated at this time...Thanks Roger.
