I have a 1952 JD A and it has several problems. First of all when the tractor runs for about 30 min. or until the oil gets hot it loses it's oil pressure. For the first 30 min the pressure is very good bewteen M and H. After the oil gets hot it drops to low. I've tried different gauges and the line to the gauge is good. I've even read that if you tighten the oil filter to tight it could cause the oil pressure to drop, I've tried that as well. Could it be that oil pump has gone bad? Next the fan shaft pinon race and bearings came to pieces this summer while I was running the tractor in the field. I stopped the tractor right then and pulled it to the barn. I replaced all the bearings and races in the governer as well as the pinon race and bearing. The fan shaft pinon bevel gear had a little damage from the race and bearing coming apart in the field. The gear had some nics on a few of the teeth not real bad, so I put the gear back on. Now when the tractor is running the gear is making a whinning noise. Is this because the teeth are damaged or could it be that the gear is to far in mesh with the governer gear causing the whinning noise? Last of all the clucth is making a loud noise as well. I've haved that clucth apart 5 times and I still can't figure out why it's making so much noise. It's only when the clucth's engaged. The bearing in the clutch looks good as far as I can tell. But it might be worn out. Any Ideas why the clutch is making such a fuss? Any help with these three things would be greatly appericated. Maybe I didn't ask to many questions.

Madison's County - by Anthony West. Philip Madison has been a good friend of mine for quite some time. He has patiently suffered my incessant chit chat on the subject of tractors for longer than I care to remember, and on many occasions he has put himself out, dropped what ever it was he was doing, to come and lend a hand cranking handles, or loading a find onto a trailer. Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
