I assume from your description that the knotter is making knots on both sides OK, but that the knot is not coming off the billhooks. Is the problem on both sides or just one? That baler does not have a wiper arm to clean the knot off the billhook like the JD and NH balers do. Instead the knot is supposed to be pulled off the billhook as the bale is pushed down the chute. Obviously the knot should come off before the knotter cycles again. It sounds like you're saying the knot is not sliding off the billhook, so I assume the twine is eventually breaking as the plunger continues to move the bale down the chute. I used to have a 124 but I was never an expert on them. I'm trying to figure out what could be going wrong. Some random thoughts that come to mind:
Billhook position is not quite right, making the angle wrong for allowing the knot to be pulled off. I can't remember if that billhook is idiot-proof or if it's possible to install it in the wrong position. Billhook might be old, rusty and/or pitted and needs to be shined up Knot is too tight on the billhook. Might be a twine tension issue? Twine is old and weak in spots (longshot).Let us know what you figure out.
