First thing to do is isolate your problem to ign system on eng or safety sw's,ign sw or wiring on tractor.
Locate ign kill lead from points & disconnect lead where it connects to tractor wiring, crank eng & check for spark
If you now have spark with kill lead disconnected then problem in safety sw's,ign sw or tractor wiring harness.
IF still no spark with kill lead disconnected then problem in ign system on eng possibly caused by dirty or bad/pitted point contacts, point gap needs to be checked/set(.020")points set incorrectly,weak/bad condenser,bad/weak coil, weak flywheel magnets or lead from points to coil shorted to block.
The coil(armature) for ign is mounted on block above flywheel UNDER flywheel cover, cover must be removed to get to coil, don't loosen/remove coil unless it's a last resort to have coil checked or to replace if problem not in points, condenser or lead to coil as coil(armature)timing is adjustable on this eng,if coil loosened, removed or replaced timing on same will have to be reset.
Click on link below for instructions on setting coil(armature)timing if coil loosened, removed or replaced, move mouse pointer over text/pic & click left mouse button to enlarge.
