If you are getting fire and you have it timed correctly (or pretty close) then it should fire or at least sputter. If you are not getting any sputtering at least then for sure you have a valve issue and your not getting any compression. Do a compression and leakdown test. If you are getting no compression then loosen your valvetrain. No or weak compresion equals no combustion......no start.
