Looking at 2 dozers about same features and both in decent condition as much as can tell. 1971 HD11B with winch for $8000 or 1971 D5 without winch for $11,000. Both 4-way blades, both open ROPS, both decent tracks and sprockets - possible HD11B better sprockets. D5 missing engine side covers. Don"t need winch - one more thing to go wrong and probably would never use it. Rear drives supposedly rebuilt on the D5.
I like Allis from collecting point, but this will be a working machine. I would not mind saving 3000, but is it worth it from parts / repair standpoint?
Any help - weak points of either machine - things to be particularly critical of would be appreciated.
