I have an HD-6, 2-71 runs great, excellent beast of a machine. however, it sat for several years with one steering clutch compartment half full of water, oil, the drain valve closed. Got it running and no brakes or steering. Got new brake linings on and put back together, so now i can turn left, but still no right turn. Steering clutches stuck, so pulled all the bolts on both sides of the clutch and tried pulling it up, ended up with a heavy nylon strap around it and got the forklift out and actually picked up the back of the dozer trying to get this out. Ive been spraying wd-40 on it twice a day and left pressure from the forklift on it and still nothing.
The service manual doesnt show anything other than pulling the bolts out and using the brake band to lift the assembly out and i cant see that i am missing anything, but....i am kinda leery of putting the torch on it because of the clutch fork and the seals and i dont wanna pound on the clutch assembly because i dont want to end up having to get a new one.
I am looking for any suggestions here, so any help would be great, i have a couple ditches and a tree line i want to clean up before i need to get beans in the ground...
