John I do not believe that the 38 B had a generator. If it did then it would be mounted in front of the carb. the block would have two threaded holes for the mount. the ones that had generators and starters, lights were 6 volt positive ground. it should have a mag. also look in the reasearch and info section og the ytmag home page jon
