I just purchased a JD 6 volt battery. So far so good. I have tried six other brands and they went dead after using them a few hours. On my JD 4430 it tkes 2 six volt batteries. I still have one of the cheaper battery on the other side. When it goes bad, I will replace it with a JD battey. The Jd battery costs $130 whereas the other batter cost $91 at Orschelins. The JD battery is made by Exide. Acid was put in after it was bought. Roy
