Yeah the older ones they bought the tooling and everything...but the new Hydros are their own but similar. Your name implies that you could hunt down parts and fix things yourself...so even with the dealer issue a Lioti might be your best chouce...but the average Joe is still better off with the Kubota unless he has a good long term reputable dealer close! Each person has their own preference...I have spent lotsa time workin, sellin and usin tractors old and new...I personally would never spend the money on a new gear drive...those hydros are soooooo handy, so much quicker in the cycle times and dependable as hell!
