Cioti Tractor

Very very ruggedly built, well engineered tractors...until the past 4-5 years lacking in technology: kinda brutish and old school, loosely based on older Kubota models. Technology has now caught up...their biggest problem is their dealer support: lotsa "used jockies" picked them up to sell next to the used stuff and never really invested in the parts/service end of things. If you have a well established dealer who has sent some sercvice techs to Kioti school, and a parts dept that actually has stock and a knowledgable parts guy, they are a 'lotta bang for the buck!" BUT...that's a BIG if!
They would be the hardest of the bunch including blue and green to sell Kubotas against if not for the dealer issue. Not too strong on the resale/trade value market but the lower upfont cost more than makes up for that!

I looked at them very hard before I bought my Kubota. But the value of the Kubota, both on initial price, and resale I felt was better. In other words, the Kioti was very close to Kubota in price. Resale on Kubota's is pretty easy to track, and it is excellent. Kioti, harder to estimate, because Kioti sales are a small fraction of Kubota's. My Kubota dealer has been in biz 35 years. The Kioti guy, 3. Parts for Kubota's are very easy to find, Kioti? I think given the lack of a signifigant price differential makes Kubota a winner.

Not "loosely based on old Kubotas", they bought the patent, and production line, from Kubota, and moved it to South Korea. I would buy a new gear drive Kioti, before I would buy a new Kubota, which has has had a lot of quality problems, in the last couple year.

pretty good machine i think, based on 2 a local landscape company had, the company moved on to greener pastures after 7 years here, the machines were at least that old and were still in use when they left

Yeah the older ones they bought the tooling and everything...but the new Hydros are their own but similar. Your name implies that you could hunt down parts and fix things yourself...so even with the dealer issue a Lioti might be your best chouce...but the average Joe is still better off with the Kubota unless he has a good long term reputable dealer close!
Each person has their own preference...I have spent lotsa time workin, sellin and usin tractors old and new...I personally would never spend the money on a new gear drive...those hydros are soooooo handy, so much quicker in the cycle times and dependable as hell!

None of the current models are related to Kubota. Seem to be a good tractor, early loaders had a lot of problems with breaking, DK55 had a lot of broken front axles. Resale is much poorer than Kubota.

I'd give them a few more years to mature and see which dealers stick around. Here they sell new for almost as much as Kubota.

I got a great deal on a slightly used (240 hrs) Kubota- did check on Kioti, and it was about the same price. Bought the Kubota because of reputation, good local dealer and good resale, and I'm happy with the decision.

Sure enough, a few months after I bought the Kubota, the Kioti dealer was gone. So was a Mahindra dealer that was here for awhile.

We have two, ck-20(350hrs), and dk-45(700hrs). They are VERY good reliable tractors. Dealer network is growing steadily here in PA and NY. We use ck-20 for general yard work, cleaning horse stalls to running a Wallenstein bx-40 pto chipper.(4" cap.) dk-40 does everything from running 74" snowblower in winter to raking hay to unloading ton palletts of wood pellets to useing 3pt backhoe to skidding firewood logs. I would not take a Kubota for the Kioti"s except to trade in for new Kioti"s. that goes for the rest of compacts from all brands.

Hydros have their place, in loader tractors. If you want to run a mower or plow, all day, your foot sure gets sore, holding down the foot pedal! That's why I prefer a gear tractor, for field work. I don't mean to sound like a know it all, but I also have about 25 years, running old and new tractors. Each type has it's place, but one thing I have heard from several places, is that kubota has been trading on their name, not their quality, for the past few years.

Never had a dealer around here, Several for Kuboto. So where would you even find anybody to repair it? A no brainer in this area to not give it a second thought.

I think you are correct...Kioti. I know a guy was telling me about his Kioti, and I thought he was slanging Kubota, but turns out was Kioti. He sent me a picture of it and I said "thats orange like a Kubota", and he sent back was Kioti, made in Korea I think. I aint got one. Have an orange tractor though, Allis.
