Pretty common for mfg. plants that have substantial waste product to use the waste as fuel, paper mills, saw mills etc. Methane digestors may be feasible when natural gas is at a certain price level and or the operation is either directly subsidized or tax incentives are given, I'm sure it creates jobs and if the money can be diverted from taxation to job creation it is a good thing. Still can't imagine any of that being cheaper or creating more jobs than drilling and production of natural gas which is possible in every state in the lower 48. When it comes to energy production everything should be on the table, if people want to invest in green technologies or if they want to drill the assorted levels of government ought to do what they can to encourage private investment and growth.
