There is also a mfg. plant south of Albany NY gasifying wood wast to fuel their facilities. Also the State Collage where I attend workshops on renewable energy, operate a 425 head dairy operation. The waste goes into a digester, and is converted into Methane and compost which goes back on the crop land. The Methane fuels two gensets to provide power for the dairy operation. The engines on the gensets do not have radiators, but the coolent is pumped over to an adjacent green house, where a heat exchanger extracts the heat which heats the greenhouse. They are growing algi in the greenhouse that can be made into Biofuel. There is a lot of reserch going on in alternative fuel production here in the NE. Some is economically feisable, some won't be. The home of General Electricis also here in Schenectday. They are dumping millions here to mfg. high tech. batteries for multiple uses in our future. We're talking batteries capable of powering RR locomotives and backing up the grid during peak demand periods.
