Boy OH boy, came home from delevering hay this morning, had a quick lunch, checked this site, and kept hearing a running truck or something. I also heard a fire siren, well I look out my basement window and see a pickup parked in my wood lot. So I go out to see what is going on, as I have 2 trucks parked over there. Across the road my friend/neighbors house is on fire. I think 3 companies were there, I guess the double wall pipe had 2 45 degree elbows in it up in the attic maybe full of cresote??, the pipe was glowing when the trooper put a hole in the sheetrock and sprayed it. They saved his house, but it needs some repaires, his brother does construction, so he will do the work and my brother and I are going to help them out any way we can. Never a dull moment. Thats the 2nd or 3 fire on our street, all from double wall pipes in a chimmny chase. You would think it would be code to use masonary. Mine is block, flu block, and a clay liner. The other all 3 with a ss liner.
