As with my 8.3L Cummins question, this is neither antique nor tractor, but I wanted to put this where it would definitely be seen. A buddy just had an oil leak fixed in the front of his engine. It had started developing electrical gremlins prior to the repair. They replaced the alternator as the old one was oil soaked. But the issue is not only still present, it's getting worse fast. His tach. cuts in and out, his check engine light flickers on, his voltage drops, and basically his whole electrical system starts to fail. He has checked and/or added grounds. Interesting- it will throw sparks from the belt! He has been directed to the crank sensor. I wonder if it isn't a bad/broken wire from the alt. output? Thanks to those who responded before. I have a definite objective on my 8.3 now.
