My understanding is around this area (Finger Lakes) most mechanics make 8 to 10 dollars an hour depending on field of expertise and regardless of manufacturer affiliation. Even those with some time experience exceeding a decade make 12 dollars an hour at the most. Most dealers that survived the 1990's here eliminated their top salary earners during that time period. I know of several instances of lasting hard feelings that reside with the former employee's family and friends that are active customers for farm equipment even to this day. Really not a place to earn much money regardless of being a mechanic, salesperson, or parts person in this day and age. Maybe if you are a part of ownership.
