As I recall there is a triangle lube fill plate down by the shift lever. Have you peered in to see if you can see anything amiss?
Have spent many an hour on a G-705. Beautiful sound to that engine, especially with the muffler off and idling slow. We had to take the muffler off to put it in our old low shed.
Had to rebuild a governor once. When first started it was idling so slow it barely sustained running. Expect it was idling between 100-200 rpms. Drew a crowd in the mechanic shop as people couldn't believe how slow it could keep on running.Might have been even slower RPMs.
BTW, ours was an LPG model. It was our first tractor with hydraulics and was a replacement for a gasoline GTB.
