I'll just tell you this. I had a John Deere 4040 with 18.4x38 bias on it. I had to send it in to the shop for transmission work right in the middle of spring work about 20 years ago. I rented another 4040 from the dealer and that one had 18.4x38 radials. There weren't any front weights on the one that I rented,but I hooked on to my plow and took it out. Mine had been breaking traction plowing up hill. I'd have to get on the brake,the front end,even weighted would come up,it was a nightmare. The one with the radials and no weights would hold traction right up over the hill,so no riding the brakes,no spinouts,so no wheel stands. I was sold on radials right there.
