I'll be thinking of you Monday afternoon as I'll be digging a grave then. I have been doing this since 1993, third generation digger in a small community. We did start digging in the wrong spot once, but the mortician came by and said he made a mistake. We have brought up wood and hinges, but my father did hit a hollow spot and sank to his knees, shook him up a bit for a few minutes and they found the bones but the cemetary had no records, so they threw in some dirt to make it the right depth and was done. And this is still done with tile spades and shovels, I always say handcrafted, we do use a loader tractor to remove the dirt and to backfill. Good workout for a couple of hours. And just like mailmen rain or snow it still has to be done. One job NOBODY ever offers help even if its your own family. chris
