Well pull out that lower element and yep it was bad but only about a week maybe 2 weeks old. It was missing about 2 inches of it so it was extra bad. Now how in the world would it burn out so much even if the thermostat was bad it should have tripped the breaker or the over load or something. Good thing is I found out today when I call Maytag about it that is it still under warranty so any thing I buy for it is covered and they will apy for the parts
